We were worried when the China Room, the dive-y Chinese restaurant hidden beneath the lobby of a Financial District office building, closed its doors and left No Ordinary Monkey, one of our favorite underground dance parties, temporarily homeless — but the monthly has managed to find a suitably awesome new location in 88 Palace, the sprawling dim-sum restaurant located under the Manhattan Bridge, on the top floor of a mall. Next party: this Friday. This is even better than swing nights at Grand Harmony Palace, and definitely the best dance-velopment to occur inside the Manhattan Bridge since the days of Fun (a.k.a. the club with video cameras in the bathroom).
