The Good Dumpling House, at 214-216 Grand Street, has always been a reliable spot for cheap, albeit greasy, dumplings (eight for $2), but rarely did we ever come under the sway of the ragged Magic Marker–and–construction–paper menus above the takeout window that touted Coca-Cola chicken. Okay, we did so exactly once — and truth be told, the stuff was not that great. In the past week, however, the place put up fancy new signage, sponsored by Lee Kum Kee sauces (there’s also a giant banner above the restaurant), and more folks seem willing to try. Will cola chicken be the next candied pork belly? And no offense, Lee Kum Kee, but does anyone know where to score a more appetizing version?
