One of our favorite etiquette tips of all time, the good old b & d, gets the nod from the Trib’s Bill Daley this weekend. It’s in response to a query about how to keep everyone’s wine glasses straight:
Hold your hands out over either side of the plate, palms facing inward. You’ll look like you’re about to karate chop your silverware. Now, bring your thumb and index finger together to create a circle, keep your other fingers extended straight out. Now, what do your hands spell? Left hand: “b” as in bread plate. Right hand: “d” as in drinks.
Follow this rule to the letter [Tribune]
