Zazie, You Know, For The Dogs

Zazie in Cole Valley has a lot going for it–it’s welcoming and cozy, they have an insanely popular brunch menu, the staff is super nice, they serve espresso drinks in large bowls and wine in unpretentious stemless glasses–but one of their more unique attributes is Monday Dog Nights.

Yes, dog owners, in addition to enjoying the wonderful three course prix fix for only $23.50 you can clean your plate and toast a glass with little Fluffy at your side. The back patio (which, by the way, is very cute and feels like a hidden Parisian oasis) takes dog reservations on Monday nights if the weather is cooperating, and even if it’s chilly out there are heated patio lamps to keep furless humans warm.

We don’t have a dog, but we really do love Zazie. Mario, one of the general managers, is so friendly and he has the enviable ability to remember names even if someone has only been in a handful of times (though, we admit to dining here much more frequently). We also can’t get enough of their La Mer benedict (fresh, hand-picked Dungeness crab and avocado) and the gingerbread pancakes. Some of our other other favorites? The pate, the trout if it’s on the menu, the Zazie Burger, and the seasonal fruit crumble with creme friache for dessert.
