When it comes to drinking in Boston, some people take the activity as seriously as an Olympic sport. The endless lines of college students in stilettos pouring out of dive bars in Brighton, even the club hopping Euro-crowd with hair extensions and Ferraris tipping back Patron shots. But one mainstay of the Boston drinking scene is The Pour House, located on Boylston Street’s row of bars that on weekend evenings turns into a jampacked drunkfest of young professionals and college students. Despite everybody’s desperate desire to get their drink on, we think people often neglect the food served at the Pour House. Besides serving a delicious brunch that will cure any hangover your subjected yourself to the previous evening, the daytime and evening menu offers everything from wings and submarine sandwiches to mile high burgers and nachos covered in everything you could imagine. Head downstairs for a quieter area away from the hectic vibe upstairs. The music is still blaring, but you can usually find a comfortable booth to enjoy your nachos and beer in. So instead of heading straight for the liquid dinner, take a breather and have a Pour House burger. At least you won’t be pouring yourself over the toilet bowl the next morning.
