The Cafe Nation

Puns are great, aren’t they? One of the better puns in Brighton foodstuffs, Cafenation is a cozy spot that also knows its basics inside out. And sometimes, it does feel like our own little alcove from the city - our own cafe nation, if you will. It’s significantly better than a mad dash into Dunkin’ Donuts - it’s also cheaper than Starbucks - and while it may take a minute more, you get outstanding dark roast coffee and friendly service in place of that precious sixty seconds in the morning.

Cafenation excels at caffeinating us, which is one reason it’s become a favorite in the neighborhood. Fresh coffee all day, iced options in the summer, and an eclectic, comprehensive selection of loose teas can quench just about anyone’s thirst. Their menu is equally wide in its scope: breakfast sandwiches, paninis, and crepes are made to order, vegetarian and vegan options among them. The staff is consistently upbeat, even on the bleakest autumn weekend mornings when they too probably didn’t get enough sleep. And what local spot would be complete without free WiFi? That, plus the stellar artwork adorning the walls, could keep us freelance folk coming back for weeks on end. Or rather, it has.
