Mangia Mangia!

Newbury Street is widely known as Boston’s go-to spot for ritzy shops and restaurants. And while catching a seat at these delectable eateries can cost a pretty penny, we’ve discovered a small restaurant that serves inexpensive meals yet still provides the luxurious on-street seating and European vibe. Bottega Fiorentina, a tiny Italian restaurant with a more recognizable location in Brookline, provides a small but comfortable patio for a laid back Italian meal of a variety of pastas in multiple sauces. The indoor seating definitely doesn’t provide more than a few tables, but it does have an area where traditional Italian ingredients are for sale if you feeling like cooking yourself.

We decided to try the restaurant out for a large party of ten, and the only reason we racked up a heavy bill was due to the multiple pitchers of their sweet sangria and bottles of wine. While we really enjoyed our tortellini in marinara sauce, Bottega Fiorentina maintains some of the same qualities as European restaurants, i.e. you may be waiting quite some time for your meal to arrive. But with an amazing location on Newbury that’s ideal for lying back with a glass of Chianti and watching the crowds go by, we promise it’s worth the wait.
