De La Costa Gets A New Owner

Here’s a happy story to start out your thursday: The owners of De La Costa in Streeterville have finally found a buyer for the restaurant.

So how much does it cost for you to get yourself a Nuevo Latino restaurant in a prime location that recently declared bankruptcy after the chef-owner was indicted for misappropriating $5.4 million to buy a Maserati? Turns out all you need is a cool mil, which clocks in at just about half that the sellers, Panacea Partners, were hoping to fetch. The buyer is the mysterious Dock 456 LLC, but the sleuths at Crain’s Chicago Business ID’d the guy behind it all as Jay Vohra, co-owner of Flatwater.

No word on whether the deal includes De La Costa’s incredibly, painfully annoying flash-based website.
