A tipster tells us that Crumbs on the Upper East Side has posted a “for rent” sign. We thought this was shocking, considering the baked-brick vendor and creator of the Artie Lange cupcake announced plans to have 40 new stores open within the year (though we wouldn’t blame them for regretting to mention that would mean closing 39). Thankfully, this is not a case of The Man’s cupmudgeonism holding Crumbs down. The shop’s moving three doors down to a bigger space, at 1979 Third Avenue.
