Who knows what Jean Adamson and Sam Buffa’s Vinegar Hill restaurant will look like when they’re done with it, but here’s how it looked in 2006, when director Morgan Roberts shot her indie drama, Love Is Rare, in the space. Roberts tells us that it never housed an actual butcher shop: “I re-created a butcher shop inside the man’s apartment who lived there and we gold-leafed the butcher-shop letters onto the windows. When the man who lived there returned, he liked the butcher-shop signs in the window so much that he kept them up.” So will Adamson and Buffa keep them, too, now that the jig is up? Or will this just add to the place’s adorable quirkiness?
