The Monday Report: Rainy Days And Mondays

This weather is depressing. At least Restaurant Week has begun!

Openings:

Chestnut Hill: Gary’s Liquors has started construction into the space next door to create another branch of Tutto Italiano, the famous gourmet Italian sandwich and Italian gorcery shop that currently has locations in the North End and Hyde Park. Besides a significant grocery area and warm food takeout, Tutto will offer delectable Italian sandwiches and pastas. There’s not much to say except Gary, tear down this wall. [Chowhound]

Downtown Crossing: Bina Alimentari, owned by the brother-sister team behind Lala Rokh and Bin 26, will be a European gourmet shop offering the three major food groups (cheese, wine, and bread) in addition to teas, coffee, and prepared foods. If their other culinary creations are an any indication, this place will be a hit. [Beantown Bloggery]

South End: More details have emerged on the new restaurant from the owners of Stephanie’s on Newbury. Stephi’s on Tremont will open this year as those first winter snowflakes descend upon Boston. Set to be located on the corner of Tremont and Union Park, Stephi’s will continue to serve the “sophisticated comfort food” Stephanie’s is notorious for, but will incorporate a bit of flair inspired by the South End.
