Make A Pancake

What started out as a quick glance at a YouTube video has swiftly turned into a full-on must-have-pancakes-for-snack situation. Since we’re at a desk, we can’t make a pancake (although how great would it be to have a griddle stashed under ones desk?), which means a restaurant needs to make it for us. Trouble is, it’s mid-afternoon, and well - pancakes are a breakfast food.

So where can one quell a matinee pancake hankering?

• The most obvious answer is Honey’s Sit ‘n Eat, which is not only very good, but also serves breakfast all day. The good news is that the pancakes are fluffy and can come fruit-filled. The less good is that it’s not work convenient for most.

• The Dutch Eating Place in Reading Terminal is accessible and the pancakes are pretty killer.

• Also office job convenient, also serving breakfast all day, but with a cajun spin instead of Amish is the Tenth Street Pourhouse. If we change our mind about pancakes (doubtful!), the spicy/unctuous combo of eggs benedict with andouille sausage is mighty tempting.
