Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Country Club, the latest meatpacking-district-area lounge — after Gin Lane and Manor — to boast a throwback clubhouse theme. The folks behind this one are actor Will DeMeo (perhaps best known from The Sopranos) and Cincinnati Reds pitcher–cover musician Bronson Arroyo (they are to Country Club what actor-baller owners Chris Noth and David Wells are to the Plumm, next-door), as well as designer Jeanie Ziering, who has thrown down alligator skin and houndstooth prints. As you can see from the food and drink menus that follow, flavored popcorn will be on offer, which has got to be a bummer for Matt Levine, who was banking on this being a unique aspect of the Eldridge. Starting tomorrow (after a media preview tonight), the lounge will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and till 4 a.m. from Thursday through Saturday.
