
The weather has been gloriously sunny and breezy recently, but here’s one thing the Red Hook zephyrs aren’t going to be blowing for several weeks yet: the scent of pupusas, tacos, arepas, and the other heavenly Latin grub New York has anxiously awaited during the food vendors’ long struggle to maintain their existence. Spokesman Cesar Fuentes tells Porkchop Express that the vendors won’t open till mid-June, bad news for those of us who expected an early-June opening. Until then, a few “satellite stands” will be at Brooklyn Flea. And we’re supposed to get our fix from that?
