Cinco De Mayo

Many people are under the impression that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s independence day. It is not, but it is still incredibly fun to celebrate, even in far-away Boston, Massachusetts. That’s why everybody seems to have a special plan for celebrating Mexico’s first victory over the French in 1862.

•The Beehive is having a Mi Casa Bee Casa party for the holiday, so head down to the South End on the 5th for chili chocolate mousse and Acapulco sangria. [Beehive]
•Check out Saint for a fiesta worth staying up late for - cocktails by Corona and Sauza are complimentary for the first 150 guests. [Going]
•For a more upscale party, a trip to Excelsior is in order, but don’t expect to spend too much - they’ll have a $5 menu of margaritas, cerveza, and tapas. [Excelsior]
