A while back, a lesbian customer sued Caliente Cab Co. for allegedly chasing her out of the bathroom because she looked like a dude, sparking the ire of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund. Her suit has now been settled, and, though Caliente denies any wrongdoing, they’ve agreed to pay $35,000 in a settlement, along with adding gender identity to its nondiscrimination policy and updating the employee handbook with a restroom section. Sounds like great bathroom reading.
