When a friend of Grub Street ordered a tuna roll at Takahachi, he was handed a letter insisting the research used in the Times story is outdated and often exploited by “environmental groups attempting to harm fishermen and the U.S. seafood industry.” According to the page-long missive, the health benefits of fish far outweigh the dangers of mercury content, even for pregnant women.
