Remember the old DC hardcore band Minor Threat? We do. We also know that frontman Ian MacKaye has always been as anti-commercial as hell, both with Minor Threat and Fugazi. But a Brooklyn picklemaker named Wheelhouse Pickles loves the punk rock as well and started making a “Minor Threat” hot sauce starting in 2004 (cuz, y’see, it’s minorly hot). It’s currently available at Whole Foods in the New York area… But back when they started selling the sauce, they asked Ian MacKaye for approval. He gave it — but only if they ditched the original label (shown above) for a new label that didn’t bite off of Minor Threat artwork.
