The café AT NINETEEN (XIX), located at the historic Park Hyatt at the Bellevue at Broad and Walnut Streets, is offering a festive Nutcracker Tea from 2 to 5 pm daily throughout December. The $38 menu ($19 for children under 13) includes modern twists on tea sandwiches like Curried Chicken Salad with dried currants and walnuts on a mini baguette; Egg Salad with parsley and nutmeg on brioche; Scottish Smoked Salmon with dill cream cheese and watercress on pumpernickel; Strawberry Jam and Cream Cheese on country white; and Honey Ham and Cheddar on toasted brioche.The magnificent three-tiered tray, dubbed “Land of the Sweets,” will feature Nutcracker-themed goodies like Sugarplum Fairy Pudding and Marzipan Financier as well as a wide array of treats based on the flavors of the season including Hot Chocolate Custard, Cranberry Scones, and Citrus Madeleines. This special tea is the perfect way to celebrate the season with family and friends before a Pennsylvania Ballet performance of the Christmastime classic or to refuel after a long day of holiday shopping in Center City while enjoying XIX’s spectacular views of Philadelphia.
