Diner’s Agenda is not feeling especially seasonal.
Monday, December 4
•Every time we talk about wine, we feel like we’re bluffing. While we love the stuff, truthfully, we have no idea what to look for in a wine or how to properly taste it. Most wine events at restaurants seem to be intended for the advanced wine enthusiast, which is why we’re so tempted by tonight’s Class in a Glass at Piattini, which promises to give a solid education on the basics. As always, the fun starts at 6pm and tickets, which cost $40, can be ordered by calling (617) 536-2020. [Piattini]
Tuesday, December 5
•Hanukah starts on Tuesday night which is something we did not know until about twenty minutes ago because we are the world’s worst Jew. Oof. We haven’t exactly made plans for our holiday meal yet, but fortunately, UpStairs on the Square is there for us with their Hanukah menu, available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night. The $48 menu features three courses chock full of delightful seasonal goodness. Call (617) 864-1933 to save your spot. [UpStairs on the Square]
•At $85, the price tag for the 7pm wine dinner at Azure is a bit steep to be sure, but it seems like a pretty good deal nonetheless. Joshua Wesson of Best Cellars will be on hand to deliver a lecture about holiday wine shopping, which will be followed by a six (!) course dinner, each course of which will be accompanied by two (!!) wines. Stop trying to do the math and just call (617) 266-2900 to save your spot. [Best Cellars]
•Hosting a holiday dinner party? Need some dishes to wow your guests? Get inspiration at the 7pm cooking class at Gordon’s Fine Wine & Culinary Center on Southern French cuisine. It will be taught by Gerard Lopez of Elephant Walk, so you know the food will be killer. $60 gets you in, so call (781) 893-1900 to get in on the fun. [Gordon’s Fine Wine & Culinary Center]
