Diner’s Agenda: A Weekend Of Style

Diner’s Agenda can’t stop listening to “All I Want For Christmas is You.” Shut up. It’s awesome.

Saturday, December 8
≺Already behind on your holiday shopping? Us too. Instead of panicking and buying your loved ones boring presents at CambridgeSide, why not head over to the gym at Cathedral High School for the annual SoWa Holiday Market? There will be over eighty vendors there selling everything from jewelry to gourmet food. The market is open from 10am-8pm on Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sunday and admission is a mere five bucks. •Can’t get enough latkes? Head over to Harvard Square for their Everyone Loves Latkes party. (This claim, by the way, is false. We, for one, don’t especially care for them.) A variety of Harvard Square restaurants will be cooking up the potato cakes and there will be a kletzmer band, all for free. Mosey on down to Winthrop Square between 3pm-5pm to get in on the revelry. [Harvard Square]

Sunday, December 9
•Enjoy a super-luxe brunch at the Oak Room while taking in a fashion show from designer Denise Hajjar. The show will be running between 12pm-2pm, so call (617) 267-5300 to save your spot. [Oak Room]
•South End tapas hot spot Toro is about to enter the terrible twos and to celebrate, they’re throwing a birthday bash. DC chef Katsuya Fukushima will be in charge of the tapas and Rick Billings, the pastry chef at Clio will be handling dessert. Toro doesn’t take reservations, so we’d advise getting there early.
