We just called the resy line at Adour Alain Ducasse (212-710-2277) and were told we could still get a table for two at 9:30 p.m. on opening night, January 28. We were also informed the five-course prix fixe would include cucumber-marinated hamachi, foie gras, tapioca ravioli, striped bass, duck breast, and pear clafouti, but you might want to think twice before you sink the $110. The Great One’s new London restaurant, Ducasse at the Dorchester, just got seriously panned in the Guardian. According to a very much not-amused Jay Rayner, the “grasping, mediocre experience” is “enough to send the happiest souls screaming for Prozac” and “memorable in an accident-with-
a-threshing-machine way.” Ouch. Ducasse was also poised to say “abracadabra” to a restaurant in the Eiffel Tower this past weekend, so we wonder if he isn’t stretching himself a tad thinner than usual? Make the reservation and let us know.
