Here’s a nifty tool/toy/depressive agent: A new-ish site dedicated to publishing the health department scores of San Francisco restaurants.
Anybody who’s eaten in a restaurant in Los Angeles has probably seen the letter grade awarded by that city. San Francisco has no comparable system, which is too bad. It does give its restaurants numeric scores in publicly-accessible health inspections, but those are not necessarily posted.
Well, now you can look up many (and hopefully, soon, more) of your favorite restaurants on this site and see just how good or bad they’ve been to your health. Imagine our delight when we typed in the name of one of our favorite Larkin St. Vietnamese Joints and discovered they’ve got “severe roaches.” See if you can guess which one!
