Diner’s Agenda: It’s So Easy Eating Green

Diner’s Agenda is singing the old TGIF theme song.

Saturday, November 10
•We own the Oxford Companion to Food and are, quite frankly, totally obsessed with it. We strongly suspect we’d be even more into the new Oxford Companion to Italian Food. That tome’s author, Gillian Riley, will be visiting the Wellesley Booksmith at 2:00 to discuss creating an encyclopedia and (presumably) what, exactly, makes pasta so damn delicious. [Wellesley Booksmith]
•It’s the Great International Beer Festival, Charlie Brown! The Providence Convention Center hosts an expo of beers from all over the world. There will be two sessions: one from 1pm-4:30pm and one from 6:30pm-10pm. There will be music, food, and unlimited sampling, so it sounds like it’s more than worth the trip down to Rhode Island. Tickets, which cost $35 per session, may be purchased at the event. [The Great International Beer Festival]

Sunday, November 11
•Join the green dining revolution at Cafe Fleuri’s special green brunch, which will feature local and sustainable ingredients. Carl DeMatteo of Northeastern Family Farms will be on hand to chat about local foods. The buffet brunch costs $50 for adults and $17.50 for kids 5-12. Save your spot by calling (617) 956-8751.
