Diner’s Agenda: Hooray For Long Weekends!

Diner’s Agenda thinks you should really know about the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain.

Saturday, October 6
•It may be sponsored by and held at a brewery, but the Ipswich Ale Harvest Fest from 1pm-6pm sounds like fun for the whole family. Parents can enjoy a beer while kids can decorate pumpkins and everyone can enjoy treats from Ipswich Clambake. No reservations are necessary. [Ipswich Ale Harvest Fest]

Sunday, October 7
•Truth in advertising alert! UpStairs on the Square is hosting a “Out of Your Gourd” beer dinner at 6:00. $49 gets you a four course dinner paired with four beers from the Offshore Brewing Company. Call (617) 864-1933 to save your spot. [UpStairs on the Square]
•Finally, an Oktoberfest event in October! Harvard Square will be home to a celebration from noon to 6:00. There will be music (including “an entire Stage of MOM BANDS WHO ROCK!!!”), folks from Bread and Puppet, and, of course, plenty of food. [Harvard Square]
•Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails (LUPEC) sounds like our kind of organization and their 7:00 fundraiser to benefit Domestic Violence Awareness Month sounds like our kind of event. The fundraiser will take place on the Louisiana Riverboat at Long Wharf and will involve plenty of food and dancing. Tickets cost $50 and may be purchased at Green Street Grill or Toro. [LUPEC Boston]

Monday, October 8
Radius missed out on a golden opportunity to title dinner with PBS host Andreas Viestad “My Dinner With Andreas.” All the same, the event sounds promising. $125 gets you a three-course dinner and a copy of Viestad’s new book Where Flavor Was Born: Recipes and Culinary Travels Along the Indian Ocean Spice Route. Call (617) 426-1234 to reserve. [Radius]

Tuesday, October 9
75 Chestnut is turning ten this week (coincidentally, Tuesday is also our mom’s birthday!) and to celebrate, they’re offering all guests from Tueday though Sunday special gifts and desserts. How generous! Call (617) 227-2175 to save your spot. [75 Chestnut]
