Breaking: Topps Bottoms Out

This morning, we linked to the USDA apologizing for not being more proactive in the meat recall. Well, nothing is as proactive as the balance sheet, apparently - Topps, the culprit in this case and also the largest manufacturer of frozen hamburger meat in the country, is going out of business. Maybe if the USDA had been on the ball, they wouldn’t have had to recall the 22 million pounds of ground beef that sank them - more careful targeting could have resulted in a much smaller loss. Oh well.
