The Tuesday Report: Banq On Fall

Tragically, after two virtually bloodless weeks, we have two closings to report this Tuesday afternoon. Never fear, though, for we have even more openings. Let’s see what we can see.

Openings
•Last Friday’s Herald featured a wealth of information about fall restaurant openings. We’ve already reported on most of them, but this was the first we’d heard about Stix. It’s coming from the fine folks behind 33 Restaurant & Lounge and will focus on “assorted poultry, meats, fish and vegetables grilled on flavor-infused skewers.” That sounds a little bit like Sauciety, no?
•The Allston-Brighton TAB Blog reports that a fancypants new Japanese restaurant called Fin’s Sushi & Grill is soon to open in Cleveland Circle…very soon by the looks of the accompanying photo.
Chowhound alerted us to a post on Boston Condos regarding what, exactly, will be going into the ground floor space at the Penny Savings Bank building in the South End. The answer is sadly not a home for us, but rather Banq, which will offer “French cuisine with an Asian flare.” We’re glad it’s not a steakhouse.

Closings
•To the chagrin of fried Twinkie enthusiasts everywhere, Anthem has closed.
•To the sorrow of East Boston residents, it seems that Zafferano is also no more.
