Congrats are in order to Ms. Tootsie’s Soul Food Cafe. The Center City restaurant was just named America’s best soul food restaurant by Black Enterprise magazine. The actual article is unfortunately behind a paywall (boo!), but rest assured the food at Ms. Tootsie’s is good. We’re fans of the fried chicken and turkey chops ourselves… Not to mention that their take on soul food (healthier oils, less reliance on frying) is much better than some of the other options out there.
