Food Blogs Proliferating; Old Media Unable To Keep Up

Food blogs: They’re everywhere! At least that’s what the New York Daily News just found out. Columnist David Hinckley is freaked out by the fact that there were, at last count, 48,000 food blogs:

“So the problem with food blogs isn’t their existence. It’s their sheer mass. How many recipes have you cut out of magazines or copied from friends over the years? How many of those recipes have you made? Not many, I’ll bet. Not even many of the ones that sounded so good you wanted to buy the ingredients for a triple recipe, make it at once and eat it for days. We don’t have enough time. We don’t have enough meals. And now we find that there are 48,000 food blogs out there, most of which I’ll bet are offering, yup, more recipes.”

He promises to console himself with red velvet cake.
