Coming Soon

It’s Tuesday afternoon and you know what that means! Time to check out this week’s rumored openings and closings. Magically, this week all the news seems to be good, so without further ado, let’s jump into it.

•Richard of A Passionate Foodie reports that Midwest Grill is set to open a location in Saugus. That seems suspiciously…classy for the Saug, particularly if it’s located on Route 1. Will it need to get some sort of loud exterior decoration to fit in with its neighbors?
•There’s a rumor going around Chowhound that a restaurant called Le Voile is getting ready to open on Newbury between Fairfield and Gloucester. Google knows nothing, but according to an intrepid MenuPages worker who happens to also be a native French speaker, “Voile” can mean either sail or veil. We’re going to make a totally unsubstantiated guess that the potential restaurant is going for the former and will be French-inspired seafood.
•The pretty, pretty Liberty Hotel will be opening soon, and with it, no less than three dining concepts. The lobby will feature a “chic ‘jail’ bar” (probably called Clink) that pays homage to the building’s former role as a penitentiary and we’re pretty sure the fine dining restaurant will go by the name of Intrigue. Intriguing! (Sorry.)
•Finally, Chowhounder Allstonian brings us a bevy of news about rumored openings in Allston and Brookline. Apparently, Brighton Ave will soon house Mount Everest Kitchen, which is assumed to be a purveyor of Nepali cuisine. The (possibly cursed) former space of Fierenze on Babcock Street in Coolidge Corner will soon be home to another Japanese restaurant. We sincerely hope it’s a house of ramen.
