We had the 7-11/Kwik-E-Mart on the brain from this morning’s post, so we were intrigued when we found this clip on YouTube promising us almost four whole minutes of retail immersion. Surely, upon viewing, we would be transported into the two-dimensional world of plainly colored shapes and ruthlessly smart timing (a.k.a the Simpsons).
Instead, we saw the interior of a convenience store that had around as much Simpsons iconography as a child’s birthday party might. Slogans, character cutouts and pink donuts aside, we found the transformation…unconvincing. So the marketing bark was louder than its bite, and we still don’t know if we’re going to see the movie.
