Stay classy, Philadelphia. A health inspector stole $1200 from a Chinese restaurant in North Philly. During a routine health inspection, the wife of the owner of the Erie Express restaurant found $1200 missing from a hiding place in the back of the restaurant. Her and her husband confronted health inspector Clarance Morris – who fled to his city-owned jeep.
Then Morris physically assaulted the restaurant owner’s wife and ran over the foot of an onlooker who tried to stop him from fleeing. Aftermath of the event? It turns out Morris was hired as a probationary employee in April and the city of Philadelphia had not bothered to investigate his background. Whoops.
