Celebrate Independence Day By Having Others Coordinate Your Activities

Actually, there’s not too too much on our radars in terms of organized, food-related July 4th activities, but here’s a sampling:

• There’s some sort of party going on at the W. DJ Jernell Geronimo will be spinning, and so will your head on the 30th floor Altitude room, where you can drink the night away with scenesters and the like (although it’s only $20, so who knows who will show up)

• Decidedly non-scenesters may want consider a 4th of July cruise with Odyssey. You can see the fireworks from the Lake, which has to be nice. Plus, they have a decent on-board menu

Both Kitsch’ns are doing a BBQ-type thing in their backyards, with beer and ribs and whatnot. Also, they’re serving their regular menu, including brunch

• Obviously the Taste of Chicago will be transpiring, but if you like politics with your pizza and cheesecake, Barack Obama is running a proselytizing event in Grant Park. You can show up at his booth, pick up some Obama ‘08 gear, and spread your message among the eaters. Root for the home team!
