Chicago’s intrepid food bloggers were all over the damn place last week (not really), in alphabetical order by restaurant
So basically, everyone was at the Taste and no one was doing reviews. That’s fine by us. The only thing that really qualified as a review was for Sweet Cakes Bakery on the TOC Blog. We’ve talked about SCB before, and this latest review is a bit more critical than the Chicagoist’s from a week and a half ago. Both prominently feature photos of the bakery’s signature egg-in-a-corn-muffin, but David Tamarkin opted for the more standard cookie and brownie test of baking prowess. The cookie was good, but the brownie tasted a bit vegan-y. Duly noted.
