A Boston Restaurant Dream Team?

Way down in the depths of the Business section last week, the Herald featured an intriguing article about Gordon Wilcox, owner of The Rattlesnake Bar & Grill, Parish Cafe, Flash’s, Bukowski’s Tavern, and Lower Depths Tap Room. Wilcox recently shut down Rattlesnake’s second floor and next month, he’ll open a late night lounge called Venom in the space, targeted to industry insiders, as well as regular fun-seeking Bostonians.

Venom sounds neat and all, but what we (along with Cantabridgia) are most excited by is the announcement that Wilcox has plans in the works to partner with Chris Schlesinger of East Coast Grill & Raw Bar on a restaurant with “funky foods and an interesting beer concept.” Now. Schlesinger does brilliant work at East Coast updating traditional New England cuisine in innovative and fascinating ways. Meanwhile, Wilcox’s Bukowski’s is our pick for the city’s best beer bar. Is it just us or does this sound like a total dream team? We’re excited to see what develops.
