Chicago is not the only municipality that’s prone to vagarious legislation - our sister blogs have recently been covering some nonsensical happenings in their necks of the woods. To whit:
• In Boston, they want to ban loud ice cream truck songs. Shouldn’t that already be covered under a noise ordinance?
• In Oakland, there’s this whole complicated thing about Trader Joe’s, liquor licenses and unions. It seems like the TJ’s is being blocked via their wine shop in order to protect labor, but TJ’s allows unions, so…sounds totally Northern California’d out to us.
