Imbibing: 2nd Annual ‘Beerbecue’ Bash @ Rhapsody

This evening from 5:30pm to 8pm, Rhapsody is hosting a redundantly and misleadingly named “beerbecue.” Redundant because, after all, what barbecue doesn’t heavily feature beer? And misleading because the focus of this ‘cue isn’t the beer (5 oz pours of uninteresting mass brands is the best you’re going to get), but the sophisticated, non-standard barbecue fare. Offerings include: brat brochette with Spanish onions, bell peppers and coarse grain mustard; prawn ceviche with roasted corn, pineapple and spicy avocado; and honey-barbeque glazed salmon with thyme and rosemary. Now that sounds a lot better than five ounces of Heineken Light. But, since it’s part of the $35 (incl. tax + tip) cover, we’ll take it anyway. This shindig is clearly about the food and not the booze, so prepare to have your taste buds heightened rather than your brain dulled.
