While scouring the food job postings on Craigslist, we stumbled across two very intriguing job postings concerning the oft-mentioned Seth Woods venture Gaslight Brasserie Du Coin. Exciting updates contained within include:
•It appears that now it’s just Gaslight, sans “Brasserie Du Coin.”
•Since the last time we mentioned it, Gaslight has gained an appendage: a prepared-foods shop called “Green Light”, whose motto is “Good to Go.” Green Light will sell all natural and organic foods.
•Both Gaslight and Green Light will open in July.
Here’s the interesting thing: as we reported back in April, Barbara Lynch of No. 9 Park, B&G; Oysters and The Butcher Shop is planning to open STIR, a “demonstration kitchen and cooking library” on Waltham St, mere blocks away from Gaslight and Green Light. While it is unknown whether STIR will also feature prepared foods, this does seem like a bit of gourmet overkill (if such a thing is even possible!) for the South End. Are we heading toward some sort of Woods-Lynch showdown? Will the streets of the South End run read with tomatoes? Rest assured, we’ll be on it.
