Father’s Day Food

For whatever reason, Father’s Day never gets quite the food hype of Mother’s Day. It seems unfair. After all, dads like to eat and be taken out to nice restaurants just as much as moms do. This Sunday, buck convention and take your dad out for a good meal. It’ll do a lot to make up for all the bad ties you bought him on Father’s Days past. Below, three of your best bets.

•If your dad is anything like ours, fried chicken and candied yams are the makings of a great Father’s Day. Find both at Bob’s Southern Bistro, which will also feature a live jazz band throughout brunch. Reservations are only being taken for parties of four or more. Call (617) 536-6204 to save a spot for your family.
•Is your dad more of a waffle kind of guy? Treat him to the Beerunch at Cambridge Brewing Co where he can indulge in a chocolate chip waffle infused with porter and topped with ale syrup. Pairs nicely with a Belgian beer.
•Does Dad have a taste for the finer things? Bring him to dinner at L’Espalier and treat him to one of Frank McClelland’s tasting menus. Yeah, it’s a splurge, but remember, it’s the last year you’ll be able to do Father’s Day at the original Gloucester Street location.
