Diner’s Agenda always says that a muddling bar is better than a middling bar.

•We have long maintained that the secret to many a good cocktail is muddling. Test our theory tonight at the Muddling Bar Kickoff Party at Excelsior from 4:30-9:00. The site promises that attendees will have the opportunity to make their own signature cocktail, so long as said cocktail is rum-based. So go! Muddle fruits and herbs and spices to your heart’s content! In related news, we could really go for a mojito. [Excelsior]
•Let’s get one things straight: Michel Richard is not the same person as Michael Richards. Richards is, of course, the former star of Seinfeld and certainly not someone with whom we’d want to have dinner, while Richard is a Beard award winning chef, a cookbook author and, by all accounts, a lovely person. Fortunately, it is Richard and not Richards who will be joining chef Raymond Ost at Sandrine’s Bistro for a special dinner tonight and Tuesday. Chefs Richard and Ost have created a truly delectable four-course menu with wine parings, available to you for $100. Dinner is at 7:00 both nights and you can save your spot at the table by calling (617) 497-5300. [Sandrine’s]

•We happen to enjoy a little (okay, a lot) of singing with our meals, as our roommates could probably attest after a year of hearing us belt out showtunes as we chop shallots. If you’re like us, get thee to 209 at 8:30 for a Broadway singalong. Because what goes better with bistro-ish fare than a little Gershwin? Nothing, that’s what. Reservations may be made by calling (617) 536-0972. [Boston Event Guide]
