Amuse Bouche: The Catchiest Cooking Lesson

You know what we like almost as much as singing foodstuffs? Songs about food. That’s why we were so excited to read about Chef Do-Re-Mi on Mouthing Off. Chef Do-Re-Mi is a site that aims to teach culinary skills through incredibly cute songs about proper cooking techniques. The songs sound like a culinary-obsessed Pipettes, which is a decidedly good thing. Basically, it’s the most useful musical innovation since those educational Animaniacs numbers. Can’t find your tablespoon? “Three Tablespoons Are One Tablespoon” has you covered? Not quite sure why your roast is a little too…roasted? The answer may be found in “The Sad Ballad of Carryover Heat.” One caveat: when the site claims “These catchy tunes will stay in your brain forever”, they’re not kidding. Hours after we discovered Chef Do-Re-Mi, we’re still singing “Pull Wiggle Wiggle (That’s How You Skin a Fish).”
