If there’s one thing we’ve learned from spending time on Chowhound’s Pennsylvania board, it’s that suburbanites really, really like Indian food. A thread on Indian food near King of Prussia has had a staggering 85 responses over the past year. Recommended picks in the area? Mainline Jewel of India for their buffet. Taste of India has the best food, but significant service issues (that users not have been improving). Himalayan in Malvern is a bit further out (and beyond MenuPages’ coverage boundary), but serves some of the best non-buffet cooking in the area. A newer opening, The Bawarchi, serves some of the best South Indian in the western suburbs, but some have complained about the lack of spice. One further note: Bawarchi recently started an all-vegetarian “special dinner buffet” on Tuesdays featuring 25 South Indian vegetarian, chat and Indo-Chinese items for $9.95 per person including five varieties of dosas.
