Comings, Goings

• As reported earlier, Chez Nous will be closing on June 3rd. In the hands of the folks behind A16, it will morph into a Roman osteria called S.P.Q.R.(for “Senatus Populusque Romanus” or “The Senate and the people of Rome”). According to today’s Chronicle, Blupointe will be joining Chez Nous in restaurant heaven. Cafe Claude’s owners intend to turn Blupointe into Gitane (French for “gypsy”–exotic, no?) at the end of May.

Amelie opened to some fanfare some months ago. A quaint and decidedly Parisian little wine bar, it offers some delicious small plate fare, along with a predominantly French wine list. An abundance of wines are offered by the glass as well. Also opened: Split Pea Seduction on 6th St and Bar Bambino in the Mission.

• We didn’t include it in our Morning Updates feature earlier today, but we thought we’d point out that Roe Restaurant got quite the menu overhaul recently.

• Finally, some other closings from the last couple weeks around the city: The Canvas, Banana’s, Little Joe’s, Platanos Cafe y Cucina Rustico, Palatino and Bistro Clement all shuttered. We hardly knew ye.
