Tomorrow brings with it a pair of wine events (or events where wine is drunk) that will make you feel sophisticated and knowledgable and virtuous. Well, at least two of the three:
•Swim Cafe is hosting an art opening from 7pm to 9pm tomorrow, featuring the works of Kelly Pelka and Deva Suckerman. If you like dark and moody portraiture, you’re in for a treat.
•Ever wonder what the deal is with biodynamic agriculture? It sounds like a New Age thing, but the movement was founded in 1924, and predates the organic movement by some decades. Similar in mission to organic agriculture, biodynamicism is based on the somewhat mystical principle of farm as organism; if organic is pilates, than biodynamic is yoga. The Architrouve is hosting an indoctrination session entitled “Winerescue & Biodynamics,” where for $80, participants will sample 10-15 biodynamic wines accompanied by small plates from like-minded restaurants. Make your reservations now, or the organism will be mad at you!<
