Well, it looks like British soap opera “EastEnders” is coming to America—and will be set in Philadelphia. The New York Daily News is reporting that Simon Fuller (yup, that one) and his production company are starting work on “Born in the USA,” a prime-time soap opera about the entwined lives of three ethnic families. The show will center around Dom Grabowski, a Polish bar owner with a “very hot wife.” Will they mine Philadelphia’s many bars for inspiration? Or go to a Port Richmond ethnic-Polish bar for inspiration? We wish we could answer these questions, but on the subject of Philly in television and film: Shooter was a really good film. Go see it.
