Diner’s Agenda: Not Lost In The Supermarket

Diner’s Agenda can’t choose between a hot dinner and a hot date.

•Yeah, yeah. We all sing it: “Love that dirty water/Boston, you’re my home.” Why not put your money where your mouth is and help out the Boston Harbor Association, which works to educate people about our beloved waterfront? They’re holding their annual benefit, which features a silent auction and a buffet from Legal Seafoods, tonight at 5:00. Tickets, which cost $125, can be purchased by calling (617) 482-1722. [The Boston Harbor Association]
•Feeling social? Gather up nine of your nearest and dearest and book a dinner at any one of twenty participating restaurants (including Icarus and Lala Rokh) for tonight’s Table For Ten benefit, which supports neurofibromatosis research. Individual tickets go for $100 and one of the aforementioned tables for ten will run you $1000. The event starts at 6:00 with dinner at the restaurant of your choice, after which participants will assemble at the Parker House for a dessert reception. Call (781) 272-9936 to save your place. [Neurofibromatosis Inc.]
•You know what’s damn hot? Knowing about food. Find your culinary match at tonight’s Singles Night at the Cambridge Whole Foods. Local musician Laura Vecchione will perform, and there will be food, games and wine (we think the wine is probably a must when you’re trying to pick up a date in the supermarket). The whole shebang gets underway at 7:00 and is completely free. [Whole Foods Market: Events]
