Over in the Inquirer, Monica Yant Kinney just freaked us out. She’s reporting that Tastykakes are being rebranded. The lengendary kake producers (formally the Tasty Baking Co.) have enlisted Plymouth Meeting’s The Bailey Group to handle branding and design. over the years, Tastykakes have changed somewhat. The pudding cakes are gone, as are the spice flavored ones. Those mince-flavored Tastykakes? Good luck finding them. Then again, we have not seen the elusive strawberry-rhubarb in years. The Bailey Group hasn’t formally spoken to the press yet about their new Tastykake campaign, but as long as they keep the coconut juniors coming we’ll be happy.
