The pie is a hybrid of the traditional pizza and the Australian meat pie. Deconstructed: It’s a ground beef pizza with onions and peas topped with puff pastry and ketchup. Here in Philadelphia, Australian food is hard to find. Although the Ants Pants Cafe near the Graduate Hospital offers several Aussie items, there simply is not that much. New York’s large population of expats allows a number of restaurants to flourish, notably the Australian meat pie vendors of Tuck Shop.
