The owner of Fort Greene's Madiba says he needs to crowdfund $200,000 or he'll have to close the restaurant.
The owners have launched a crowd-funding campaign to cover equipment costs.
"We're thinking drones."
He's aiming to have the product ready by June.
Probiotic coffee, an apartment gardening system, and portable beer kegs.
Some 17,000 donors think it's a worthy cause.
One person who set up a fund calls Howard Dixon "a hard-working and loyal employee for over 15 years, always making it in through rain, sleet and snow."
Judging by its crowd-funding so far, the latter.
But the dude still has $40,000 for a side dish.
Dude better hold the mayo.
And he still hasn't decided what kind yet.
"Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet."
Less than 48 hours remain to save the raw-foods restaurant.
Talk about true grit.
