Mario Batali’s involvement with Eataly is finally officially over 20 months after accusations against Batali first surfaced. According to the Associated Press, the chain of Italian markets has bought Batali out of his minority stake. (The news was first made public late Friday afternoon, a.k.a. the best time of day to publish information to ensure it doesn’t get much public traction.)

Next Friday, the 58-year-old chef and TV personality is due in court in Boston on charges of a sexual assault that allegedly took place at a local restaurant in March 2017. Batali has pleaded not guilty.
